libraries are in the business of providing information. Information, in the broadest sense, can be used for research, entertainment, or other purposes.
Now, I'm a librarian at a university, so the information we provide is pretty much strictly what the students and faculty find necessary for their classes and research.
A public library serves everyone at large, so they need to have a little of this and a little of that in order to serve the whole community. If young adult males want their entertainment information in video game format, rather than in book format, libraries should supply video games.
