thanks.
i'm waiting one more last opinion from a friend to go to the store and close the deal.
funny is that everybody who said "no" adds "but if you buy i want a ride on the machine"Sep 12, 2006 12:39 PM - solitaryascidian wrote:
hey, mike, do you mind giving me more advice about the laptop? people are just making me more and more confused.
half of the time the people i know tell me not to buy mac, because it's too expensive comparing with pcs, and that a pc would be enough for me, if i'm going to use as a desktop computer (writing, reading, internet, chats, some game playing - just one game). half say they don't know anything about mac, but a laptop makes them excited, so it's all "go for it, girl".
now, i searched on sites and compared prices and i found one pc laptop at the same price of the macbook, with same spec., except for the HD (20gb bigger), size (15", and i wanted 13"), and there is no camera. the other cheaper pc laptops had less speed and same hd, or less speed and less hd, and so on. so i don't know if i should consider mac so more expensive than they were telling me, right now.
i'm contemplating the most basic macbook, you know. not the pro, and not the one with the dvd recorder either.
THEN, one person said different. he said this computer is not good enough. that i should go for one with more speed, more memory, more everything, customized with the extras, because in 2 years the programs will be too heavy for this one.
with the money i have today, i can only afford the deal i got. i can't buy pcs because they will only accept credit cards (that i don't have, with limits big enough for that), and i can't buy the more powerful macs either.
so, sorry for the long message, but i thought someone with direct experience would know what to say. if i can pay for it, is it a bad deal?Sep 09, 2006 03:21 PM - solitaryascidian wrote:
my boss is going to change his powerbook for a macbook till the end of the year, and already offered to sell me his old machine (which, by the way, i used for some weeks when he travelled and i had to give his classes on uni in his place). we didn't discuss the price yet. but then i just got in love with the macbook on the store. and there is the cam too...
i feel like a consumist silly girl, but i do like the macbook better.Sep 08, 2006 05:16 PM - Lynn wrote:
Will you guys get academic credit for this project? Or, is it just for fame and glory?

The other day I read a new entry at dearinter.net/blog about T-shirt, but now the entry is gone. Did you change your mind, or is it not ready yet?

I am enjoying the site, I check it every day. I am hopelessly addicted to it. I don't understand one concept though, how do I get friends on the site? Anyway, I have told everyone I know to visit the site and ask a question.
