- in Hey, mom? Remember when you asked if I liked boys?, maria says:
I think you should only tell her if you feel it's essential. It may unburden you, but - being of a different generation - it might be a terrible worry to her. There comes a moment when telling somebody the truth only helps a selfish purpose.

I'm with fiercenailbunny. Really. Don't. Go to school, get an education, get a degree, then think about a family. Not before that.
Sep 08, 2008 01:06 PM - in the point of marriage, maria says:
Having my dad live with his girlfriend, I kind of want them to get married. Bluntly, because they are not young anymore, and if - god I hope not - they were to get really ill, I know that they would be best at deciding what is better for each other. Legally, that's the only way they could, by being married. If I was the only daughter or we all felt like this, it wouldn't be a problem that they are not married, but. I am not the only daughter and my siblings don't really like the girlfriend. I just worry that in the end, they wouldn't even let her see him and I live too far away to do anything about it.
So. If they got married, problem solved!
I know it's a hard very objective view of it, but obviously they love each other, and so I am taking that as a given. They love each other, they are committed to each other, why not marry?
So it's more of a don't ask why, ask why not.Sep 08, 2008 12:01 PM - (show all)

Don't. He's obviously not getting you one. Let it go.
