Yeah, the weird thing is he says he's not expecting me to contribute to this account (we'll each have our own independent accounts still) but he just wants us to pay our shared bills out of one account. Anyway, I told him "no", since (yep, you guessed it) my general feeling was "ugh" on the issue.

Maybe I'm non-confrontational, but I would avoid being so frank with him b/c it might cut the friendship short and he sounds like a good person to have around in small doses. I think once you are busy enough with your own friends/stuff there won't be any room in your life for his needy antics.
