    I personally believe that if it changed anything it made the rest of the world think less of the US. It's not like this is the first tragic attack ever. Yes, it was the largest attack on the US, but it also opened a floodgate of corrupted power that seems to have gone to the heads of the government

    Mainly, it just changed the way a lot of Americans see the world, opening their eyes to the fact that there are people on this planet who do not like the US. Unfortunately, instead of questioning this attitude, the primary response was to lash out.

    I think it just allowed people to see what everything was/is and like moments where you suddenly see things as they really are, it's pretty gruesome. The difference here is that so many people saw reality at the same time.
    PS I'm not really as down beat as that sounds
