"intelligent design" is getting quite popular at the moment. Allegedly the Catholic church is now considering whether to adopt it. I am quite worried by this. Are you?

    remember that the Catholic church employs real scientists, and doesn't jump on every fad that comes along. Their daft ideas are steeped in tradition.

    I like Johnny's idea . . . start a dearinter.net utopia. But we should also remember that for many physical proof is more powerful than beliefs. Sadly beliefs are hard to change. I do fear what may come of this more because it implies the power of religous beliefs over science.
