my theory is that, generally, sneaky, devious people prefer invisibility, while well-adjusted, happy, adventurous types would rather fly. then again, if you were invisible you could steal enough money to buy a jet.

but a jet wouldn't be nearly as fun as being able to fly unaided...

I really want to be invisible. Mostly for sneaky, people watching purposes. Also, I could totally ignore people and not offend them, because, they wouldn't know I was there.

Those who answer "flight" must first ask the question, "How fast is the flight?" If you can only fly as fast as you can walk, then...

I think the main difference is that flight is already possible (albeit with expense and possible scheduling difficulties). Invisibility would be new and exciting!

danguy, i think the idea isn't that it takes less time, but just the act of doing.

and rss, i agree with mgaiman (maddy?), being able to fly without a jet...that'd be new and exciting =)

invisibility would be interesting, but make people think you're a pervert. everybody would be extremely catious around you, and not trust you. It would get boring after a while, you're limited to what all other humans are limited to. Flying on the other hand, you can fly off into space, see things nobody has ever seen. Use it as transportating. People wouldn't be scared, but amazed by you.. it would be amazing.

At first I was going to say invisibility. But, having spent a good portion of my life feeling invisible, why would I want to become truly invisible? A couple weeks ago, for the very first time ever, I dreamed about being able to fly. Having only ever dreamed about sort of gliding before, and that only rarely, the dream was a fantastic experience. It'd be wonderful to be able to fly unaided, even if it was slower than merely walking.

What I really want is teleportation, but flying would be insanely great too. There are plenty of cautionary literary tales about the downsides of being invisible, although I suspect it'd be great fun until you got lynched.

hmmm. teleportation would rock. being invisible would have to include the clause that you'd be able to see while invisible. else that pesky physics thing gets in the way.

a pet superpower i'd love to have is a selective physics field. i'd be able to walk up walls...stop time...crazy stuff. reality itself would be mine. within a dozen or so feet.

I think the power of flight would help get rid of my vertigo... no more fear of falling

I would hate to be invisible. Too much responsibility, too afraid to witness things that weren't for me to know, which might weigh me down.

Flight however - that'd be cool. Although I have a repeating dream where gravity is low and one can do awesome jumps - that'd be enough for me!

Hm. Seeing as every super-hero ever invented has had to hide their powers, invisibility would be a lot easier, no? Plus, you can only accomplish so much with flying around, whereas being invisible has nearly no limitations!
