Is there such a thing as an unappropiate time to announce to friends and family about where you plan to live? Sounds like strange friends and family to me.

Well... it's not so much that you're keeping it a secret, but that you don't want to count your chickens until they hatch, as it were. (I'm jittery until I have key in hand, really.)

Do they know that you're looking? I was fairly nervous when I bought my house but I also figured, if things didn't work out I'd want to be able to talk about it with someone

The closest people know informally. They keep asking when we're going to blog it. Heh.

Defenately before moving. Perhaps also before fixing the place up (if you decide to do that). It's amazing really how people think it's more fun to paint someone else's walls than their own (me included).

Um, don't you talk to them about the house buying during the process? Is it like a secret? I don't understand!
