Being in North America, American politics invariably have an impact so I feel justified in having an opinion - especially regarding environmental issues and even more so with this particular "president" and our PM. Don't know if Lamont has concrete constructive alternatives to the Bush administration, but at least he seems to be going in the right direction.

I must say that, while I do try very hard to stay appraised of government and political happenings, and I always vote... IMHO, all politicians are scum no matter what party they're with and it'll take a bloody miracle to convince me otherwise. A dream of mine is that someday there'll be a truly strong Independent candidate with the guts to speak for the middle ground, good common sense, and a lack of party and corporate favoritism. Ah, well...

I think what happened is a clear sign to incumbents that they cannot simply skate their way back into office. Candidates must answer to their consituents instead of kissing-up (literally) to the reigning administration.

i voted on the "i have no idea" option, but i actually have an idea what it is about, just not too big or too clear. last week one of the biggest news magazines here (brasil) wrote about it, but the focus of the report was on how dailykos.com influenced that decision. i don't know why kos supported lamont, though, and never heard of any of them before.

on the other hand, i asked a friend whose opinion i respect very much about it and got "lieberman is like the sith lord from star wars" as answer.
