Dear wonderful Internet,
Today, I changed my own license plate lights! Ta-da! Not challenging enough to warrant such exuberance, you say? Well, considering I had to dismantle the inside of my trunk to do so, I beg to differ. nod
Anywho, on to the question: if you have/had a car, do you/did you prefer to do the maintenance on it yourself?
Happily yours,
Magpie

My car is not very maintenance-friendly (you basically have to remove the whole motor in order to change a single headlight bulb), but if I could, I would love to maintain it myself. Don't have much practice, though, but I still remember that feeling when I changed my first flat tyre with my dad's help...
When I did have a car, I would take it in for anything but only because I had the care care plan that covered it. I rather enjoy not having a car, and am very glad I live in an area where I don't need one.
Never had a car (not of my own, at any rate), but if I did, then I would definitely love to tinker with it and fix it myself. Yay to you, Magpie, for doing so!
I used to do more when I was young, but these days arthritic hands and complicated cars make it much more difficult.
