dear internet,

okay, this is complicated: My husband and I used to be friends with another couple. The men are actually co-workers, but the friendship predates the working together. It used to be pretty close, because all four of us knew only very few people living nearby.
Some eight weeks ago, the two men were on a business trip together and had a falling-out. Now, the other guy takes these things pretty seriously and promptly returned everything he and his wife had borrowed from us and stuff. I haven't seen or heard from them since.
Tomorrow is the wife's birthday, and I'm not sure what to do. To make matters worse, I don't have any contact info for her, because usually the men handled making dates etc., so all contact would have to be through my husband's ex-friend.

What can I do? I don't feel that I have fallen out with these people, especially not the woman.
