dear internet,

I'm no writer. I plan to actually be a doctor someday, but about a year ago, nearly fully-formed plot and characters for an original story bloomed in my head. I'm so fond of the story that over the past year I've continued to embellish it even though it's still just the skeleton of the novel and nothing has actually been written.

I probably won't get the full piece finished until I'm well out of school (for me that'd make it another forty years, ha) but if and when I do my question is this: what should I do with it?

If you feel obligated to finish your story, do so for your own fulfillment. (5 votes)

If you finish, heck, why not try sending it to some publishers? Can't hurt, especially since you've been so dedicated to the story. (26 votes)

Don't bother writing the story, just keep it intact in your mind and focus on something more profitable. (0 votes)

John Grisham was an attorney before he became a writer. So I'm sure a doctor can be a writer also!
