dear internet,

God says not to covet thy neighbors wife. God did just that by getting mary pregnant. God says thou shalt not kill. God did just that when he flooded the world? So I ask you...Do we really need to follow commandments that the maker himself won't follow? That's like following laws that congress passes then they themselves don't follow.

Am I yep or nah-ing the statement at the end or the question? Whatever, are you arguing against christianity or against morality as imposed by the commandments? I'm confused...

Technically, Mary was made pregnant before she was married to Joseph . . . so it wasn't coveting a neighbor's wife or adultery or anything. At least if I'm remembering the dreaded Bible classes I was forced to attend when I was younger and couldn't just say "I'm agnostic; no thanks."

Oh but you see God did all that when he was a vengeful god, & when Jesus was born, EVERYTHING WAS OK, & he didn't do anything mean again . . . of course there is that pesky revelations bit . . . . .

as The Marquis said in Quills, "An entire religion built on an oxymoron!!!"
