dear internet,

lets just say someone invited you to their wedding a few years back. you couldnt attend, but got the invite. you really havent spoken to them at all in the past few years since then. now you are hosting a wedding. do you have to track the person down and reestablish contact and invite them, or do you just let it go without the invite?
