do you think modern day values and particular conceptions of ethics can be applied to history and ancient society even though these concepts weren't prevailing or even existent (in the form we know them at least) at the time?

yes, ethics and moral truths are eternal and independent of humans

yes, ethics and morals though clearly dependent on humans are concepts that should have been apparent to ancient society and their failure to realise these things should be examined

maybe, depends on the particular case, some values are eternal

maybe, depends on the particular case, some values should’ve been apparent even to ancient society

maybe, we can apply current ideas on ethics on ancient society but we can’t judge them based on concepts they had no access to

no, it’s completely ridiculous to do so

I don’t know/don’t have an opinion
