yowch - truth or love... reminded me on "Ministry Of Fear" by Graham Greene. Love would be so much nicer, but it would be dishonest to pretend that it is above truth.
I think I'll just watch Moulin Rouge again, it is easier than picking one ;)
... but I was in a similar situation a couple of weeks ago, and definitely truth above all else (beauty doesn't warrant a mention), especially in love, I think, truth is essential. Intertwined though, as halfasianpotato mentions, is freedom. Truth and freedom are irrevocably intertwined with love, under the heading of communication. Truth is a necessity of communication when in love, equally so is freedom, to accept the person you love, warts and all; the freedom to be completely honest [but say it nicely ;)] in a relationship. And the understanding required that when one sometimes exercises that freedom of honesty with an outburst of emotion, it is done because of love, the intensity it can produce, of how freedom of expression can sometimes not be contained in the language of diplomacy.

if you want to go all "moulin rouge"...add "freedom. :)
I thought about it....I really love that movie, and I feel a weird sort of embarrassment whenever I admit it.
