ok, a guy totally asked that question. Like Sethera said, I wear pantyhose if I'm wearing a suit, stockings if I'm pulling the short skirt and winter boots/cowboy boots and a sweater look, and nothing in summer because it's too hot anyway. So yeah...
I'm from northern Canada. Lots of folks wear stockings and pantyhose, but I find them too hot to bother with in summer and pretty much useless in winter. And the few skirts I do wear are all at least knee length. I moved to the coast, and it's warmer here, but crazy windy so not much has changed for me.
Over-the-knee socks. Striped for preference. If those are too heavy and I want some slink in my step I've got some opaque microfibre things, same length.
Sethera and catilina are right. If I'm wearing a skirt or a dress I wear stockings. Hold-ups are a magical invention and so much more comfortable than tights (I refuse to call them pantyhose). However, I hardly ever wear skirts.

It depends on what I'm wearing, and what the temperature is outside. Most of the time, none. Is it business or pleasure?
