dear internet,
Here in the US, as well as other places I'm sure, 'tis the season to consume, buy, charge, incur debt, etc. Inspired by this, I am considering my next major purchase (okay, the last 'major' purchase was a $20 dvd player combined with a $20 adaptor to make it work with my tv).

Don't buy anything you don't need on credit
Is it true that if you don't have credit in the US, it's harder to get a job, because people are afraid that you might tell 'em where to stick it if you don't like the job?
If you give to charity anyway, it's be silly to use credit to give, unless there is a specific cause that can't wait, and your donation could make a difference. If it is not important to be in debt for aforementioned reason, just pay off your debt, and take a deep breath.
And if there is something that you really need, you will buy it. A new TV sounds more like a luxury...
one and three. I heard a rumor that they're going to stop making old fashined cathode ray tube TVs soon, so if you want a new one of those you'll have to get it quick. (or you could just spring for the plasma...)
and cable TV! damn! there are still people living without it? well, if you call that living...
Hmmmm... Okay, the pennies will be saved for replacing dial-up probably via cable tv hookup unless the vote suddenly takes a wild swing in another direction.
