dear internet,
I have been having a heated discussion on a forum on weather or not incest between brothers should be considered wrong. since biologically they can't produce offspring which would be the only scientific reason why incest should be considered wrong - between two consenting adults of course - that I can see. my standpoint is that you should be able to have a discussion on weather or not this is wrong, why it is considered to be wrong in societies eyes and if it's considered so rightly. and that if you have a strong opinion that incest is wrong no matter what you should be able to argue for that standpoint, otherwise you should try to keep an open mind.
so my question is, are there absolute truths either determined by god (or omnipresent force of choice) or possibly even by society at large that should be accepted without question and without a need to argue for them or should every opinion on any subject (including "taboo" subjects such as murder and incest) you might have be backed by a strong argument?
