We have a tramline. Does that count? And not drunks screaming, but at 3am yesterday early morn, I distinctly heard someone plotting to rob our house, coming over the tramline (80 yards away)... ye'd think the eejits would know to whisper...
there is a restaurant across the street. i don't even hear the drunken shouts anymore, unless i can't sleep for another reason. then i get pretty upset at the drunks and spend the night calling the police.
eesh, that would upset me too (domestic violence). I'd deffers be calling the cops for that. I have a dealer living across the alley from me. I could reach out and "secret knock" on his door (not so secret when our whole house can hear it). I think he's harmless, tho. He looks like ZZ Top, and weighs maybe 80 pounds. Its mostly old drunks that come and bang him up (a-hahahah) I mean knock on his door, but I feel a bit conspicuous working on my laptop while people do commerce a few feet away...
there is a dealer about 3 blocks from here too. it's said everybody knows the place (including the police) but nothing ever happens to them. sometimes when i hear fireworks i wonder if it's some code of them letting people know there's new stuff to sell (i hear about this somewhere).
Our apartment used to be located in the red light district of Amsterdam, where all kinds of screams (yells, moans, and such) can be heard throughout the nights. Where we live now turns out not too different, but much, much more quiet: the screams are reserved for mild junkies and drunks only.

I don't think it counts, but is equally bad nonetheless...what a maroon.
there's some construction or angry technological sounds going on though...

We've had to call the cops several times for some guy hitting his girlfriend or some such. It upsets me really badly.

alley no. hallway yes... loud suitemates + alcohol = VERY VERY VERY loud suitemates. they are entertaining though. :)
There are couple in my tenament block who only ever communicate through shouting at each other. My bedroom backs onto the buzzer for the building. :-(
