I could sound smart and claim that I was merely attempting to resist the influx of Starbucks into the rest of the world, but in truth...I accidentally saved the question with two answers...oops.
If Starbucks anywhere else in the world is like New Zealand (where it is the McDonalds of coffee), I don't at all understand the obsession... But apparantly, when Starbucks opened in America, drinking espresso coffee was not par for the course (unlike most civilised countries), therefore the chain quickly embedded itself in the American conciousness... As opposed for being seen immediatly for the chain franchise shlock that it is...
