It depends how well you know her. What if she hates bugs? Butterfly world would then not be a good idea. If you know she's like it, go for it. Otherwise, take her out to dinner and once you get to know her better take her to Butterfly World.
I agree with Catilina, but must add that your idea is a really good one as far as originality goes. Maybe ask if she's ever been, and then if she'd like to go? I know that sometimes a walking-talking date is more fun than a sitting-talking date because it can help eliminate those "alone with you on our first date" jitters.
I agree with Magpie, sounds like a lovely, interesting first date. Of course it depends on the girl, but I much prefer something less formal to begin with.

i've been to butterfly world! i enjoyed it, but i was also twelve. i'd say take her uptown instead - try Frankenstein's bar - really fun atmosphere.
