dear internet,

what is the deal with skanky Halloween costumes? When I was making costume plans, I thought it would be kind of fun to dress up in one, but after seeing about 75% of the female population wearing the same ones (some of whom should not have been wearing them too, if you know what I mean), I wasn't sure what to think...

soooo....

this morning's new facebook pictures are priceless. and in regards to the skanky costumes... i went down the list of my friends yesterday and the costumes went as such: slut, slut, slut, NUN.
liz (the nun) is now my hero. best costume ever.

my girlfriends and i were all relatively skanky versions of the village people this year and it was a total blast - i enjoy group costumes. but i have to agree that the new cop-out for girl costumes seems to be dressing as slutty school girls and i do find it a little irritating. next year i plan to be something more creative, like a stapler or pterodactyl. (open to suggestions)

A stapler is an excellent costume!
I put that it is degrading and unnecessary, but mostly because I have a friend who is a high school teacher, and he described some pretty sad costumes for teen girls to be wearing. "Some sort of flight attendant-prostitute" for example.

Skanky costumes are just too easy - best to use that creativity a bit.
