dear internet,3 years ago i found out that my husband of then-27 years had been having an affair, off and on, for 13 years. we worked through that and he agreed not to sleep with the Person in Question again. i think he's held true to that. however, recently i found out that he's continued a phone, email and occasionally meeting-in-person relationship with the Person in Question. we seem to have worked through this as well, and he's agreed not to contact her or speak to her again, except as will be occasionally required in public.

was i sensible to believe him the 2nd time and to try to go on with our relationship, or was this 2nd evidence of deception One Bridge Too Far? what does the internet think?
